    Hello all,

is it possible to let the ftp service authenticate against a Microsoft Windows Domain Controller?

If the answer is yes, I would like to know how. Is there anyone who can help?

    Regards Pascal

It's been a while since the release notes for 2010.Q1 have been posted yet there is still no link for the update package. When will this be posted?

    1. Mar 09, 2010

I've been told by a Sun engineer that it will be out tomorrow (10/03/10).

Having issue with boot up. It's starts and display "Grub stage2" then blank screen with cursor flashing.
This happen during LACP setup and now I can not access box. Waiting for support now but anybody has any idea?

Any chance of getting the RSS feed to get updated when new releases are out? The current feed is currently 4 revs back on the 2010.Q1 release train.

    1. May 18, 2010

We've decided to update the RSS feed only for major and minor releases, not for micros. If you'd like to be notified of micro releases, let us know and we'll consider changing that policy. Thanks for the feedback.

      1. May 18, 2010

Given that I've had a number of issues resolved in the 2010.Q1 micro releases, it would be nice if there were two rss feeds: one for the major/minor releases that more conservative folks can track, and then one for everything that those of us who want to be on the latest bits can watch.

And while we are on the topic, any chance of having release notes that link to bugid's that are viewable through sunsolve? For example, in the 2010.Q1.1 release we see an entry for 6930977: pull in ZFS fixes. The problem is that I have no way of knowing what zfs fixes got pulled in so it is hard to tell if that would possibly help some odd behavior I've been seeing.

I have a sun storage 7000 on which I have lost the boot disk. Is there a way I can re-install the storage software onto the system. I am having trouble finding any resource on how I would go about this. Any help would help at this point I am pulling my hair out.

    Thankyou kindly

Ok our system has been running great for almost 2 years with zero downtime. I was just
about to comment how great it is until the file system just filled up. I had a snapshot I took before users came on and deleted it. However it still was 0 free blocks. Then a scrub
started and the whole system hung.

We have tried rebooting it with no luck. I am working with an Oracle engineer and an onsite
guy. However as soon as it tries to do the milestone single-user it hangs in about 15 minutes.

Is there a way to stop the scrub from starting. The engineer suggested leaving it run overnight and we have done that twice, but it never comes back with a prompt or the network so you can ssh into it. (You get permission denied).

Any ideas. The s/w is about a year old running 2010.Q1.0.2.

It looks like this problem is addressed in the release notes for the current version.

So how can I get it back up so we can install the new version and delete files so that it
    isn't 100% full.

I am trying to use the snapshot delete command from a script, but it hangs waiting for input (confirmation).
Can this command be used from a script?

Is there a maximum number of clients that the 7410 can support?  We went to Jumbo on 1 10 gig connection and the system starts loosing clients/mounts.  I have set the interface back to 1500.  We have between 4,000 and 5,000 clients that mount the system.

A domain controller provides authentication services for a network of Windows machines. See the Wikipedia Article for a brief introduction. If you need to build one, you can do so with a Windows server (any of a variety of flavors, e.g. Windows 2003 Server) or you can run Samba on a Linux box. I would recommend the latter approach, and if you need advice on which Linux distribution to use, I would recommend Ubuntu,
